Our brand was started following the passing of our founder’s mother and is inspired by memories of natural Caribbean skincare traditions her late mother used on our founder’s sensitive skin as a child. Our ingredient philosophy honours her mother’s legacy and wisdom passed down from generations to generations of the power of tropical botanicals, whilst embracing the advancement of modern skin barrier science. This balance of heritage, nature and innovation shapes every formula we create for sensitive skin. 

Our hero face oil was born from our founder’s own skin improvement journey. As she researched and learned more about the importance of a healthy skin barrier, she went down a rabbit hole exploring the essential fatty acids her skin needed and wanted to replenish through a nourishing face oil. After struggling to find a face oil that didn’t irritate her skin, she decided to create her own — one designed with her skin’s needs in mind.

We don't believe sensitive skin should have to choose between comfort, performance and experience. Our philosophy is simple: protect the barrier first, and healthier, more resilient skin will follow.

Healthy skin starts with a healthy skin barrier. When your barrier is strong, skin is better able to retain moisture, defend against everyday stressors, and stay calm and resilient. That's why every Nouri Bay formula is created with a barrier-first approach. We carefully select ingredients that nourish, strengthen, and support your skin without unnecessary irritation, because effective skincare shouldn't come at the expense of your skin barrier.

We don't white label or use off-the-shelf formulas. Every product begins with the founder's vision, extensive research, rigorous experimentation and careful product development. Working closely with an experienced UK cosmetic chemist, each formula is developed from scratch, tested, refined and perfected to meet our exact standards.

Every formula is also dermatologically tested to ensure it is suitable for sensitive skin, giving you confidence in both its performance and safety.

We aim is to redefine the sensitive skin category by evolving beyond the clinical/ pharmacy approach that has long dominated the market. We understand the sense of exclusion and FOMO (fear of missing out) that many people with sensitive skin experience — particularly when it comes to results-led performance and aesthetic and sensorial skincare experiences that often feel created without sensitive skin needs in mind.

At the other end of the spectrum, many luxury skincare brands with products positioned as being “for all skin types” include fragrance and essential oils in their formulas — common irritants to sensitive skin. This can leave people with sensitive skin feeling caught between two worlds and why Nouri Bay was created to fill this gap.
